Logic comes a poor second in the school funding debate. The teacher union lobbyists discover that graduates of private schools are more likely to hold positions of power. So what do they advocate? Cut funding to private schools, push fees up, only let the rich put their children into such schools!
Dr Kemp’s new funding, inversely proportional to family income, is the only truly socialist plan on the table. The Left Wing factions are pushed into this absurd position because they have another agenda — they want business protection for the state school systems which they live off. Too bad about the kids’ prospects.
