I was impressed by a lot of Kevin Rudd’s platform as expressed to the Canberra Press Gallery (17th April). He moved Labor closer to the centre: acknowledging small business as the most productive sector. Cutting down red tape, including interstate hiccups. More common sense than ideology.
But he can’t govern by himself. What is he going to do with the dinosaurs in his party? Many of the motivated, in Labor positions, want to see society through class goggles. They want some class war, some payback, some “victories”.
I would be truly amazed if he delivered half of what he offered.
