The Age October 22, 2009
I read your article about MacDonald's free maths online program (Wednesday, October 21). I shake my head in disbelief to hear the criticism of "free advertising".
The online program is an absolute lifesaver for many maths students - anyone who has missed lessons or is not keeping up (or has a dud maths teacher). I use it to brush up my own maths too. There is only the tiniest mention on the opening screen that it is supplied by MacDonalds.
THIS SENTENCE EDITED OUT BY THE AGEThe real question to me is why the critics, who operate a multi-billion-dollar tax-funded monopoly, never provided this brilliant service to the youth of Australia themselves!
