Labor's School Empire
Thursday, March 11, 2004
Labor politicians are saying they want schools funded according to need. This is untrue. Their policy is to provide full funding for anyone who uses the state system, no matter how rich - and to have reduced funding for anyone in other schools, no matter how poor. No other school place gets as much public funding as a state school place. Labor would widen this gap. This is not needs-based funding. Its aim is to channel more families into state schooling, which is run by Labor.
